Bogl

Griffin March aka BOGL, is a self-taught DJ and music enthusiast originally from Las Vegas, NV. His mystery carries deeper than the hood of his sweater; you will find yourself at one of the most unique parties you’ve ever been to, and all of a sudden Bogl will take over with all new exclusive music selection from his friends abroad exposing your ears to the freshest sounds you’ve yet to hear.

After a fast paced upbringing as a competitive skater, he found himself in San Francisco bombing its hills and going out on the town practically every night taking full advantage of its thriving music culture. Dropping into a time when beat experimentation was at an all time high, he got a job at Amoeba Records, bought a pair of used turntables and multiplied his music collection taking special interest in rare left field low frequencies. It wasn’t until he was at an underground party witnessing the first appearance of Dubstep in San Francisco did his dedication to music electronic begin to rapidly intensify. In 2006 he was asked to help start a monthly party at an old shotty dive bar and invited friends such as Lazersword to play. Not even a year later the party began hitting multiple venues and undergrounds showcasing a variety of electronic genres and music labels.

Naming his parties Soundpieces, he began collaborating with different friends and venues making possible some of the most memorable Dubstep, Hip Hop, and House music parties in San Francisco. They feature himself alongside many names, some forgotten and others for their very first time in the Bay Area such as Rustie, Joker, Skream, Caspa, Hudson Mohawke, Mount Kimbie, and Shlohmo to name a few.

The charisma he carries is like that of a friendly ghost; he is kept close to your heart as one would a godfather, yet his style is so mind-boggling, he basically exists as an untouchable phenomenon. He’s become known for appearing out of what might seem to be thin air, playing music that will take you to an unfathomable dimension, and then vanishing to some far off place. It makes you wonder, is it even possible Bogl really exists?
